Orange County: Countywide Strategic Plan, Priorities for General Assembly, and More

Chair of the Orange County Commissioners Jamezetta Bedford spoke with 97.9 The Hill’s Andrew Stuckey on Wednesday, February 21. She discussed the adoption of a county-wide Strategic Plan. She talked about the process of adopting the plan, how that is likely to impact county business going forward, and more. She also discussed the commissioners priority for the General Assembly during the upcoming short session, including the Medicaid expansion finally being taken off of that list. She also talked about Black History Month activities in the county, and more.

Hillsborough: Reservoir is Full, Practice Fire, Greenways Survey

Hillsborough Mayor Mark Bell spoke with 97.9 The Hill’s Andrew Stuckey on Tuesday, February 20. He discussed the Hillsborough Reservoir, which had not been at full capacity since its expansion in 2019 until this week. He also discussed a practice fire that the Hillsborough Fire Department will be conducting for training purposes on Saturday, which is open to the public. He talked about a greenway survey the town is conducting as they plan on expanding their greenway system, and more.

Carrboro: Reimagining Boards and Commissions, Triangle Native American Society, Black History Month

Carrboro Mayor Barbara Foushee spoke with 97.9 The Hill’s Andrew Stuckey on Friday, February 16. She discussed a recent meeting with the Triangle Native American Society, a recent discussion amongst the town council about reorganizing the advisory boards and commissions for the town, upcoming Black History Month events, and more.
