It can be difficult to parse out all the issues we are faced with in order to be an informed electorate. Information is everywhere.

Without major policy changes in the federal government and a massive influx of federal funds, no community will be able to build the amount of affordable housing that is needed.

This year’s school board runoff between Bonnie Hauser and Jennifer Moore leaves many voters with an impossible choice. Bonnie Hauser has misled the public regarding circumstances surrounding the departure of our previous Superintendent; and Jennifer Moore has admitted to lying about her level of education.

As a Chapel Hill Parks, Greenways, and Recreation Commission member for nearly six years, I’ve witnessed the ongoing struggle with our park system to pay deferred maintenance costs and build new facilities.

Politics are on overdrive in the Orange County School Board Runoff Election. Divisive rhetoric, false narratives, and personal attacks have become the norm.

I see many assertions from those that endorsed Jennifer Moore that she “made a mistake.” It wasn’t just one mistake; it was a 3-year con that extends beyond our school board and community.
