meddeliAfter six weeks and hundreds of votes, Chapelboro is proud to announce that the winner of our inaugural Restaurant Bracket is Chapel Hill’s Mediterranean Deli! This Franklin Street institution has been serving fresh and delicious Middle Eastern food for more than twenty years, with more than sixty different dishes available daily, full catering service, and even an in-house bakery. Owner Jamil Kadoura and his family and employees have also been heavily involved in charitable giving in their community, making Mediterranean Deli a hub for the life (as well as the food) of Chapelboro. And now you’ve chosen them as Chapelboro’s favorite restaurant!

Congratulations also to our runner-up, Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen. The beloved roadside stand offers up the tastiest biscuits around, served hot out of the oven. Cars line up every morning (and especially on weekends), and drive away with the best breakfast in town.

We want to recognize all the great restaurants who participated, including Final Four contenders Glasshalfull and Top of the Hill; Edible Eight members Crook’s Corner, Merritt’s Store and Grill, Elmo’s Diner, and Mama Dip’s Kitchen; and Savory Sixteen finishers Acme Food and Beverage, Carrburritos, 411 West, Carolina Crossroads, Buns, Foster’s Market, Sutton’s Drug Store, and Kipos.
