8/5/19 – Van Halen “Why Can’t This Be Love?” 

One day last week, I played this song on my morning show, and it’s been popping into my head off and on ever since…including this morning. VAN HALEN is one of the all-time great rock n roll bands. You couldn’t live through the 80’s without Van Halen being at least a part of the soundtrack of your life.

8/6/19 – Jeff Buckley “Hallelujah”

When I woke up today, I had this beautiful song playing in my head. It’s called “Hallelujah,” a wonderful composition written by Leonard Cohen, the famous Canadian singer, songwriter, poet, and novelist. He recorded it and so have a lot of other artists, but the cover that is most beautiful to me, without question, is the version by Jeff Buckley.

8/7/19 – Joe Jackson “Steppin’ Out”

Does the name David Ian Jackson mean anything to you?  Probably not.  But this English musician goes by the name of Joe Jackson, and that may be a little more familiar.  Actually, I guess Joe Jackson’s not really all that famous in America, but in England, they have a much better idea of what he can do.  He’s certainly not just any old musician!

8/8/19 – The Beatles “Here Comes The Sun”

It was 50 years ago when John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney and George Harrison strolled across the street, with a photographer (Linda McCartney, actually!) capturing the moment, thereby creating that iconic photograph and album cover.

8/9/19 – The Manhattans “Shining Star” 

THE MANHATTANS have been around, in one form or another, since way back in 1962. The Manhattans are not from New York City as the name might suggest, but from Jersey City, New Jersey. They’ve always been about strong vocal harmonies, and they have a couple of songs that are instantly recognizable by just about any music fan.
