4/1/19 – Luther Ingram “(If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don’t Want To Be Right”

Luther Ingram was really big in the early 70’s, and definitely left his mark, musically speaking. He passed away about 12 years ago, at the age of 69, but this song will be around forever. 4/2/19 – Steely Dan “FM”

Steely Dan was a tremendously talented rock group and the guys had a lot of hit records in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Fans loved ‘em and so did the critics, which is kind of unusual, actually. Steely Dan was innovative! They combined rock with jazz and other musical elements, and it all made for a lot of great songs on several albums.

Get ready for some straight ahead rock and roll! Back in his heyday, nobody but nobody rocked any harder than Rockin’ Rod Stewart. He was with Jeff Beck for a while, and then he got together with Faces, and an incredibly exciting band was formed!

4/4/19 – Elton John “Philadelphia Freedom” 

A great song today from an artist who’s provided us with dozens and dozens of great songs! There’s a good story behind this one, too, from the legendary ELTON JOHN. I know I featured an Elton John song the other day, but in my head, his music just won’t fade out!) In 1975, he asked his songwriting partner, Bernie Taupin, to come up with the lyrics for a tribute to his close friend, Billie Jean King, the tennis star.

4/5/19 – Kim Carnes “Bette Davis Eyes”

I don’t know if the name, KIM CARNES, means anything to you… but she’s an extremely well respected California songwriter, who’s been doing it since the 60’s. She’s written songs for Kenny Rogers, Barbra Streisand, James Ingram, and other famous artists, mostly in the Country Music world. She’s had some moderately successful hit singles, too!
