10/28/19 – AC/DC “You Shook Me All Night Long”
There’s a little Australian rock and roll in my head this morning! What a way to wake up!!! A lot of people have tried to describe AC/DC. Some say it’s a rock band.
Some call ‘em heavy metal. Some have even gone so far as to call AC/DC a rock and roll blues band. Are they Classic rock? I don’t know, but ask the members of the band, and they’ll say, “we’re just rock n roll, mate!”
10/29/19 – Elton John “Your Song”
ELTON JOHN is surely one of the most talented musicians of his generation. And his music found its way into my head again, first thing this morning. And it’s actually the very first song I ever heard by Elton John. “Your Song” is still one of my favorites and this is a guy who’s created a lot of “favorites.”
10/30/19 – Issac Hayes “Don’t Let Go”
Isaac Hayes was a legend in Memphis. He is revered as much as anyone who ever came through the music scene there. In-house musician, songwriter, and record producer for STAX Records. A guy who had the nickname, “Black Moses,” and one of the few people who could have ever carried that off.
10/31/19 – Creedence Clearwater Revival “I Put A Spell On You”
This song always pops into my head at Halloween. Usually when people start talking about Halloween. It’s just one of those songs that sounds evil. Actually, it was even more evil when it done originally by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. His version recorded back in the 50’s even made it onto Rolling Stone magazine’s list of THE 500 GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL SONGS!
11/1/19 – The Who “Slip Kid”
I don’t know how this song got into my head today. I haven’t heard it in a long time. I supposed some suppressed memory popped up and suggested it.
THE WHO is certainly one of the most important rock bands of all time. In terms of popularity, and in terms of influence on other artists over the years.
