CHAPEL HILL – UNC women’s basketball head coach, Silvia Hatchell, is bringing in former National Player of the Year, Ivory Latta, to join the UNC staff as an assistant coach.

Latta led Carolina to back-to-back Final Fours and was a two-time consensus first-team All-American during her career in Chapel Hill.

Replacing Trisha Stafford-Odom on the coaching staff, Latta will look to revitalize a Tar Heel women’s basketball team that has been struggling recently to reclaim the kind of form that saw them as a championship contender.

Carolina’s all-time leading scorer with 2,285 career points, Latta earned All-America honors in her final three seasons with the Heels.

Latta will continue her professional career with the WNBA’s Washington Mystics while she aides her alma mater.
