LaVar Ball has spoken plenty of things into existence since bursting into the public spotlight last year, but he and his company–the Big Baller Brand–were unable to convince incoming UNC guard Coby White to join their proposed basketball league, which is looking to provide 80 top high-schoolers with a paid alternative to the NCAA.

Named the Junior Basketball Association, the league is looking to fill out eight teams across four U.S. cities and holds a sponsorship from Facebook due to Ball’s reality show on the network titled Ball in the Family.

The league has yet to be finalized, but Ball has said that player salaries would range from $3,000 to $10,000 per month–and that everything would be funded by the Big Baller Brand.

White–a 6-foot-5-inch shooting guard from Wilson–is the No. 3 ranked shooting guard prospect in the country and the all-time leading scorer in North Carolina High School basketball history.

The News & Observer reported Friday that one of Ball’s business partners, Alan Wilson, visited White and his mother, Bonita, in Wilson at the Greenfield School.

Current plans are for the JBA to run from June through October, which would mean any player who participated would make themselves ineligible for the following college season.

With that in mind, both White and his mother rejected the offer–sticking to the commitment made to head coach Roy Williams and the Tar Heels.
