CHAPEL HILL – The No. 1 UNC baseball team returns home this weekend for a three-game conference series against Marylandbeginning Friday night.
Carolina got back to its winning ways on Wednesday with a 10-0 win over UNC Wilmington. Maryland also stepped out of conference play for a mid-week win over Rider on Wednesday, 6-3.
UNC is just two points ahead of LSU in the Collegiate Baseball Top 25 poll, and the Tar Heels are tied with the Tigers for the best record in the county. LSU is on a nine-game winning streak; a Carolina sweep of Maryland this weekend would certainly help the Tar Heels’ cause.
