CARRBORO– Week four of high school football action delivered some top flight battles from the gridiron on a crisp, fall North Carolina evening.

In the most anticipated contest of the week, Coach Bill Hall’s Northwood Chargers made the trip over to Carrboro High School to take on the Jaguars in the WCHL game of the week. Both squads had their undefeated seasons on the line.

The first half saw a back and forth battle with both offenses overcoming some early nerves to deliver some impressive scoring drives. But when star Carrboro running back Trai Sharp was knocked out of the game in the second quarter, the game changed in the Chargers favor.

In the second half, Northwood continued to wear down the injury depleted Jaguars. And in the end, Coach Bill Hall’s squad emerged with a 41-19 victory to improve to 4-0 on the season heading into their bye week.

After the game, Coach Hall said the contest was a statement win for his team at this stage of the season.

The Orange Panthers were featured on Chapelboro.com in their match-up with Graham. And boy, did they not drop a beat. The Orange defense continued its stingy ways by shutting out Graham 35-0 to stay undefeated and set up a tantalizing showdown against Northwood in a couple weeks’ time.

Coach Moser’s defense has still yet to give up an offensive touchdown in four complete contests!

In other action, the Cedar Ridge Red Wolves headed over to Durham-Riverside in search of their first victory of the season. But Chris Casey’s team fell short once again. This time, they lost by a touchdown 38-31.

And not to be forgotten, Coach Sherman’s East Chapel Hill team played a game against Southern Alamance. They didn’t fare so well, giving up 45 points in defeat, 45-28.
