The UNC Athletics Department shared new updates of festivities planned for Saturday April 18, the day of the UNC football spring game and other athletics events, on Monday.

The department revealed the Bell Tower Block Party as an option during the day to get UNC fans and the community excited about Tar Heel athletics. A release announcing the event said fans can expect food trucks, live music performances from the Marching Tar Heels and other bands, inflatables and many other activities to be available throughout the morning and afternoon. Details on the exact location of the event are still being finalized, according to the message, but the block party will end 30 minutes before the start of the spring football game to allow fans to enter Kenan Stadium.

The announcement adds on another event to what the university is calling Super Saturday. The Tar Heel 10 Miler starts the activities at 7:15 a.m. on April 18. The Bell Tower Block Party will then begin at 9 a.m. and will last until 2:30 p.m. The UNC men’s lacrosse team will face Notre Dame on Dorrance Field at noon, with the women’s lacrosse team matching up with Duke later at 5 p.m. The lacrosse games are considered a double-header, meaning a single ticket will be good for entrance to both matches.

The UNC football spring game will begin at 3 p.m. and will signify the end of the team’s spring practice program.

UNC football head coach Mack Brown took to Twitter to share his excitement about the Bell Tower Block Party.

For fans unable to make it to the UNC football spring game, the scrimmage will be televised for the first time on the ACC Network.
