The Town of Chapel Hill has officially proclaimed Monday, July 17, as “Ron Stutts Day”.
The accolade marks the 40 year anniversary of Stutts hosting the Morning Show on WCHL. Stutts has also officiated weddings, acted as Master of Ceremonies and led Chapel Hill’s Holiday Parade as Grand Marshal on several occasions.
Stutts’ work at WCHL has included covering politics since the presidential campaign of Ronald Reagan and covering five UNC Basketball National Championships.
The proclamation was made by Community Safety Communications Specialist Ran Northam at a celebration honoring Stutts held at the Strowd on Sunday.
Congratulations to you, Ron!
Who ever would think growing up as neighbors and classmates that I was in the prescience of a future big celebrity!
Again, congratulations to a sweet guy!
