CHAPEL HILL-The weather’s getting warmer, and that means it’s time for outdoor festivals in and around Chapel Hill—including one next weekend that will help raise awareness about all that nature has to offer.

The second annual Carolina Moonlight Gala is set to take place under the stars at the North Carolina Botanical Garden.

We call it a “sustainable garden party,” says gala committee member Alan Grier. “It’s very important because it supports all of the garden’s educational programs and the gardens themselves.”

The garden, which is associated with UNC, exists to promote the conservation of local plants and wildlife.

Next weekend’s gala is set to include music and dancing, along with food and beverages. Grier says a live and silent auction will also take place, and local residents can participate in the silent auction whether they’re planning to attend the gala or not.

“This garden party has already started because we have an online auction that’s already been open for bidding,” he says. “Even people who aren’t going to be coming to the event can sign up for the silent auction and continue bidding up until 9:00 next Saturday night when we have the finale of that and start the live auction.”

The gala will take place next Saturday evening from 7:00 to 11:00. For more information, or to purchase tickets, click here.
