CHAPEL HILL – The UNC Department of Public Safety is asking for your help in identifying the suspects of recent larcenies from the Student Stores.

The first larceny took place April 4 and an attempted larceny of textbooks took place August 30 from the Daniels Student Stores. Students have reportedly stolen textbooks and then approached UNC students on campus asking them to return the books and give them the reimbursed money. Up to three suspects have been reported so far.

The suspects have been seen on campus driving a van or light-colored SUV with a Florida license plate. One person of interest has been described as a black male, about six feet tall, with a stocky build.  Student Stores surveillance cameras have yielded photos of suspects.
