Welcome to “Making a Splash” with Goldfish Swim School of Chapel Hill!

Every month on 97.9 The Hill, Brighton McConnell is joined by a member of the Goldfish team for a conversation about building confidence in kids, in and out of the pool. Owner Manuel Alex joined Brighton McConnell last Friday for “Making a Splash” to discuss getting into a routine, and the benefits of swim lessons in a safe environment.

When asked about the format of swim lessons at Goldfish, Manuel explained as a parent of two boys, “we thrive on routine” and this works for kids in and out of the pool. “Our curriculum was built to where every time every student, no matter what the level… that lesson follows a routine.

When it comes to COVID safety protocols, Goldfish was ahead of the curve, due to the requirements already in place to keep an indoor swimming facility safe. “Chlorine is a big help.” Says Alex, going on to explain “also the humidity in the room and temperature of the room. The air around the pool is 92 degrees, so it is a very warm environment.”

Listen to Brighton and Manuel’s full conversation below, as they talk about Goldfish’s state of the art facility and their goal to make swimming lessons accessible to as many kids as possible.
