Opening of the New Ackland Art Museum’s Permanent Collection
An event every week that begins at 12:00am on Saturday, repeating until December 29, 2018
The Ackland Art Museum’s permanent collection galleries have been reimagined, redesigned, and reinstalled. ‘A New Look: The Permanent Collection Galleries Re-Energized’ features newly-configured spaces for art after 1950, including works by artists Nam June Paik and George Segal; an expanded gallery of African Art, including a group of Nigerian Ikenga figures; and an enhanced ability to present works on paper, including sixteenth and seventeenth Dutch drawings of winter scenes from the Peck Collection.
Admission to the Ackland Art Museum is always free.
