Family Fun Fest & Low-Cost Rabies Clinic
May 19 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Orange County Animal Services will be hosting its first Family Fun Fest on Saturday, May 19, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Rogers Road Community Center on Edgar Street in Chapel Hill.
The event will be held in conjunction with a Low-Cost Rabies Vaccination Clinic and it will feature low-cost rabies vaccinations and microchips, face painting, Animal Control Show and Tell, Arts and Crafts, Spay/Neuter Program information, basketball games, an “Ask A Vet” information booth, and popcorn. A Spanish language translator will also be on site during the event.
The purpose of this event is to increase community outreach for animal health and welfare. The low-cost rabies clinic ensures that cats and dogs are current on their vaccinations, while providing pet owners with substantial savings on rabies vaccinations. 1-year and 3-year vaccinations will be offered for $10. Pet owners will need to have a previous rabies certificate in hand to receive the 3-year vaccine. A tag alone is not sufficient. Microchips will also be offered at this clinic for $35 each, including registration fees. Owners can choose to have a pet receive only a microchip, only a rabies vaccine, or both. Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers. Please do not leave any animals in cars during the event.
