Nonprofit Showcase with Fred Black features the amazing organizations that help people in so many ways and are doing so much to make our community a better place to live and work. Our goal is to help everyone become more aware of the work they are doing and how we can all help them to continue to help us.
AUGUSTINE LITERACY PROJ.
Founder and Exec. Dir. Debbie McCarthy established the literacy project to improve the reading, writing, and spelling abilities of low income children and teens who struggle with literacy skills. Volunteer tutors are trained to provide 60 learning sessions with each student. They believe in the motto, “Tutor one child, change two lives!”
