Most everybody feels a crisis about their own mortality at some point or another; some people react by buying the sleek sports car they always dreamed they’d be able to afford as an adult, some people leave their spouses for another romantic partner, and some people completely strip their lives down and re-evaluate everything from square one. Our guest this week, August Turak, dealt with the anxiety of his own mortality by briefly joining a Trappist Monastery. He is the author of Business Secrets of the Trappist Monks: One CEO’s Quest for Meaning and Authenticity and is here to talk about the lessons he learned and why they are important for all of us.
