Today is Monday, November 3, 2015.  Election Day.  Rachel Dolezal is back in the news, geoglyphs were discovered in Kazakhstan, and a man met a seal.

Remember Rachel Dolezal?

Rachel Dolezal dominated the national conversation a few months back.  She was the NAACP president in Spokane, Washington.  But, she resigned following allegations that she had lied about her racial identity and other aspects of her biography.

On Monday, Rachel Dolezal appeared on the daytime talk show, The Real.

Dolezal admitted for the first time to being biologically white. Host Jenne Mai said, “You weren’t born black, so when you say you are black, it makes it hard for people to understand where you’re coming from.” Dolezal then conceded, “I was biologically born white to white parent,” but noted, “I identify as black.

Geoglyphs in Kazakhstan

Geoglyphs or massive ancient earthworks etched in the tree-less steppes of Turgai in Kazakhstan were recently captured by scientists and are now the subject of investigation concerning the area’s prehistoric settlement.

NASA released several satellite photos of these geoglyphs which were estimated to be approximately 8,000 years old and can only be seen 430 miles above via aerial view. Each of the geoglyphs was described to contain geometric figures of crosses, lines, rings and squares the size of large football fields.

The mysterious ancient earthworks were first discovered through Google Earth eight years ago by Dmitriy Dey, an archaeology enthusiast. He also explained that the figures were possibly used as observatories to record the movements of the Sun as seen on Earth.

Seal Makes a Friend

No.  This is not a story about 1990’s popstar, Seal.  It is about a seal who made a friend.
