Today is Wednesday, November 4, 2015.  There’s a cat in a breadbox.  Also, we meet a pretty spectacular 17-year-old and learn how sheep can ruin a flight.

Cat in a Breadbox

Let’s be honest, we have all felt like a cat in a breadbox at some point in our lives.  That might sound like a weird metaphor, but one cat takes it literally in the video below.

Meet Moshe Kai Cavalin

Moshe Kai Cavilin is 17.  He has two college degrees.  He is too young to drive a car alone, but can fly airplanes.  Cavilin is from San Gabriel, California.

He graduated from community college at age 11. Four years later, he had a bachelor’s in math from the University of California, Los Angeles. This year, he started online classes to get a master’s in cybersecurity through the Boston area’s Brandeis University. He decided to postpone that pursuit for a couple of terms, though, while he helps NASA develop surveillance technology for airplanes and drones.

He published a book, recently.  It was his second book.  This one draws on his experience being bullied and stories he’s heard from others.

He also has a bunch of trophies from martial arts tournaments.

Sheep Ruins Flight

A plane had to make an emergency landing because of a smoke indication in the cargo bay, but it wasn’t due to a fire .

Blame the sheep.

According to the Aviation Herald, a Singapore Airlines flight had to make an unscheduled landing in Denpasar when the cockpit noticed a smoke warning. The aircraft was transporting more than two thousand sheep from Sydney to Kuala Lampur.

The plane landed safely and investigators found nothing on fire. They determined that “the smoke indication was the result of exhaust gases and manure produced by the sheep.”

The sheep-filled plane spent two and a half hours on the ground before it continued on to its final destination.
