Today is Monday May 2, 2016.  Starbucks gets icy.  Can a French teacher speak the language?  A Prince homage gets a sports guy fired.

Icy Starbucks

Starbucks is getting sued for its ice.

Evidently, a woman believes that Starbucks is filling its cups with too much ice and customers only get half of what they pay for.  For example, according to the lawsuit, a venti holds 24 ounces.  But, after ice, you get as little as 14 ounces of liquid.

The customer wants $5 million.

Starbucks released a statement to TMZ.  “Our customers understand and expect that ice is an essential component of any ‘iced’ beverage.”

Pardon My French

A high school teacher who is teaching French is facing a serious accusation.  The claim is that he cannot speak French.

Albert Moyer admitted that the full extent of his French education was only one year in high school.  A student said that Moyer can say “bonjour” and that’s about it.

Moyer replaced a 25-year teaching veteran who was certified to teach French.

A Fireable Prince Homage

Dan Phillips used to be a sports anchor at WZTV Fox-17 in Nashville.  Then, he did his sports roundup with tons of references to the recently deceased superstar Prince.

According to Phillips, station management thought the video was “insensitive.”  So, they fired him.

He explains via Facebook:

“First of all, I want to thank everyone for the kind words, comments and positive feedback on this tribute I did to Prince last week. It really means a lot.

Unfortunately, there were apparently some viewers, as well as management at the station, who did not feel the same way. They felt I was insensitive. And as a result, I was terminated today.

I’m choosing to use this as a catalyst for some exciting things I’ve been working on for some time now. I’ll have many more details on this in coming days.

For now, thanks again for all of your support. And if you need an old, washed-up sports guy for anything, please let me know!”
