A bank robbery in Chapel Hill; exciting numbers about the local arts scene; a one-woman show hits the PlayMakers stage; local chefs unite to make school lunches great; and a “green home” tour. It was a busy day!

WCHL news director Blake Hodge comes on with an update about Thursday’s bank robbery on Rosemary Street – and a pedestrian-vehicle collision that fortunately resulted in only minor injuries.

 

Katie Murray of the Orange County Arts Commission offers some impressive new findings about the impact of the arts on the local economy.

 

Anne Torsiglieri is the writer and star of a one-woman show called “‘A’ Train” (now onstage at PlayMakers), inspired by her own experiences after learning that one of her children had autism. She joined Aaron to discuss the show, along with director Risa Brainin.

 

Marianne Weant of the North Carolina PTA joined Aaron to discuss “Reimagining School Meals,” an event that brings together four local chefs to develop new, healthy school lunches that kids will love to eat. Chefs Bo Peterson, Regan Stachler, and Jake Wood also joined the fun.

 

Jamie Hager from Southern Energy Management and Michele Myers from M Squared Builders came on to discuss the Spring Green Home Tour, April 28-29 and May 5-6, hosted by the HBAs of Durham/Orange/Chatham and Raleigh/Wake, with more than two dozen homes to tour across the area.
