11/14/17: Lighthouse “One Fine Morning”

I don’t know why I woke up with this song playing in my head, but it makes perfect sense. I remember waking up and thinking that today was going to be a great day, and sure enough a group called Lighthouse was right on cue with a song called “One Fine Morning”!

Lighthouse came out of Toronto, Canada, and really hit it big in 1971 with this tune. It went all the way to #2 in Canada, and reached #24 here in the states. Lighthouse sounded a lot like Chicago and Blood, Sweat & Tears, and even more like Ides of March and Crow. It was a big, brassy ensemble featuring a gruff-voiced lead vocalist and some rocking instrumentation. “One Fine Morning” sounds like it’s going to take off, strong enough to get just about any day kickstarted!
