10/4/17: Stevie Nicks & Tom Petty “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around”
No surprise here, but I can’t stop thinking about Tom Petty. One of the giants of rock n’ roll music, who passed away late Monday. I’ve been listening to a lot of Tom Petty music, remembering the lives and times those sounds are so easily associated with, and remembering just how much I liked that guy. He performed with a lot of different artists over the years, and I’m sure one of his favorite collaborators was Stevie Nicks. In fact, he and Stevie were extremely closer friends. They were similar ages, and had a lot in common… Nicks even called Petty her “go-to person” when she needed to talk or get another perspective on something, even when she had her heart broken by someone. She once said that if she could be in any other band besides Fleetwood Mac, she’d like to be in the Heartbreakers, working alongside Tom Petty.
The duo did a song together that’s been in my head a lot lately, and I know that you know it. It’s “Stop Dragging My Heart Around.”
