Pretty soon, it won’t be too crazy to think the ACC should rename its women’s basketball Rookie of the Week honor the “Janelle Bailey Award.”

The league announced Monday that Bailey–the Tar Heels’ 6-foot-4-inch frontcourt standout–earned the award for the fifth time already this season, with plenty of games still left to play.

Bailey had a double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds) in UNC’s win over Clemson last Thursday, before exploding for a career game Sunday afternoon in an overtime win on the road against Wake Forest.

She tallied a whopping 30 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Tar Heels, with both numbers representing career highs for the native of Matthews, North Carolina.

The ACC also recognized Louisville junior guard Asia Derr as its Player of the Week after she scored 36 points in the Cardinals’ upset win over No. 2 Notre Dame.

Bailey and UNC, meanwhile, will return to the court on Thursday when NC State visits Carmichael Arena.
