The No. 9 North Carolina women’s basketball team, 11-1 on the season, returns to action Tuesday afternoon to take on 7-5 Albany at 2 p.m. inside Carmichael Arena.

The Tar Heels have two remaining tune-up games before opening ACC action against N.C. State Sunday at 2 p.m. – a game that will be broadcast on 97.9 FM, WCHL.

The good news for Carolina is its won’t have to leave the comfy surroundings of Chapel Hill for the foreseeable future, playing their next three games at home.

The only previous meeting between UNC and Albany was a tight 59-54 Tar Heel victory in the 2013 NCAA Tournament first round. But it would appear the Great Danes will be overmatched this time around.

Allisha Gray is averaging 19.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game to lead a Carolina offense that boasts numerous scoring threats.

What’s more, the Tar Heels are the only squad in the country with four wins over top-25 ranked teams this season. The only loss for head coach Sylvia Hatchell’s team came on Dec. 16 to No. 13 Oregon State.
