CHAPEL HILL– Following a week featuring a pair of comfortable wins over Clemson and Boston College, the Carolina women’s basketball team moved up another two spots to No. 7 in the AP Poll released Monday.
16-3 on the season and 4-1 in ACC action, the Tar Heels have won 11 out of their last 12 contests. UNC’s next challenge will come on the road Thursday at 9-8 Wake Forest.
Joining Carolina in the top 10 of the latest national poll is a bevy of ACC schools including No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 3 Duke and No. 6 Maryland.
As for the men, Carolina remains unranked after playing only one game last week – a win against Boston College. Undefeated ACC member Syracuse remains locked in at No. 2 while 14-4 Duke moved up a few places to No. 18 in the new AP poll.
