CHAPEL HILL– The Tar Heel women’s basketball team checks in at No. 17 in the AP poll this week following a 94-91 loss at Georgia Tech.

The latest national college basketball rankings were released Monday for both the men and women.

The undefeated Connecticut Huskies continued to top the women’s poll while Duke checks in at No. 3 nationally.

Fellow ACC members Notre Dame, Maryland and N.C. State all place in the top ten this week as well.

As for the men, the Tar Heels remain unranked despite their five-game winning streak, receiving only a single vote for the Top 25.

ACC foe Syracuse maintains its place as the top team in the nation while Duke moved up three slots to No. 8 in the country following a pair of comfortable conference wins last week.

No. 9 Michigan State, No. 13 Louisville and No. 14 Kentucky feature in the latest rankings, all of which share the distinction of being victims of Tar Heel upsets earlier in the season.

As for the rest of the ACC, Virginia and Pittsburgh remain in the rankings at No. 17 and 25, respectively.
