3/7/18: Harry Chapin “Taxi”
The song playing in my head this morning is from the singer, songwriter and storyteller Harry Chapin! The man could tell a story! Some of his songs were so long that he had trouble getting some radio stations to play them. I guess he needed the extra time to tell the story the way he wanted it told, and you certainly can’t blame him — especially when his songs and stories are so well-executed!
3/8/18: Fleetwood Mac “World Turning”
There’s no surprises in my head today! Fleetwood Mac is one of my all-time favorites, the kind of band I could listen to all day and all night and never get tired of. The song I’m hearing today is one of their best, in my humble opinion. It’s also vastly under-appreciated, even by Fleetwood Mac fans!
3/9/18: Jonny Lang “Breakin’ Me”
You know how at the end of “Blues Brother 2000” they have this huge ensemble number with about a hundred musicians participating in a rock n’ roll song, each one singing or playing a line or a bar (or two) as the credits roll? The first time I ever heard Jonny Lang was during that extravaganza.
