Local Breweries Raise Money for Animals in Need

Ever wanted to drink beer and help animals in need?

During the week of February 5 – 9, fifteen North Carolina breweries will compete in a friendly competition aimed at raising donations for local animal shelters. During “Brew to the Rescue,” breweries will be paired with an animal shelter in their local area, with the winner of the competition receiving a grand prize of 300-pounds of pet food donated to the shelter.

Two local breweries participating in the event are Fullsteam Brewery in Durham and Mystery Brewing Company in Hillsborough. Fullsteam is paired with the Animal Protection Society of Durham while Mystery Brewing is partnered with Orange County Animal Shelter.

While the brewery and shelter who raise the most money will receive a grand prize, the real winners are the animals in need who will receive donations towards food and awareness towards pet adoptions.
