If you or your Valentine are gluten sensitive, dining out when you’re gluten-free can seem difficult. Meet Hadassah, the owner of Triangle Gluten-Free, a new gluten-free only business. Triangle Gluten-Free is a start-up that focuses on local, seasonal, organic and sustainable food as much as possible. “We really have to focus on farm-to-table cooking and dining to avoid GMO’s which wreak havoc on the digestive system,” says Hadassah.

On February 7th,  Triangle Gluten-Free will be hosting a Sweetheart Social at Midway Community Kitchen.  Come and enjoy an array of appetizers, a 3-course dinner, plus dessert and wine! This is a mixer – so both singles and couples are welcome.  Here’s the menu from their website:

Chili and Chocolate-Rubbed Beef Brisket – this will be sliced local, Limousin beef brisket. Limousin is a variety of beef from France. Farmer Randy from T-5 Farm raises these naturally, as grass-fed beef right here in Liberty, NC.

Multi-color Roasted Pepper Salad with Herbed Vinaigrette (Vegan) – This will be a yummy, healthy treat! Look for a good dose of local herbs from Julie and Mimi at Wild Dog Farms!

Sausage / Pizza Rolls with GF crust (includes veg option – contains dairy)- Someone asked for a dairy-free option, so that is in the mix. Email Hadassah directly for substitutions other than gluten-free!

Charcuterie Platter, Cheese Platter, Assorted Dips, Crackers and GF Flatbread – we’ll be including our Housemade Scratch Flats! Original and flavors will be served alongside gf crackers and chips!

Seasonal Market Veggies- We’re rooting for a root veggie tureen to show some hearty vegan love for our veggie friends! But we may also have a nice local crudites platter!

GF Chocolate and Dipped Fruit / Cookie Platter: We’ll do a hands-on chocolate-dipping demo for dessert … I’ll have a recipe for gluten-free essentials dessert to pass on as you get your chocolate love on! What’s more romantic than food dipped in chocolate?

When Hadassah isn’t working on her new venture she keeps herself very busy. As a freelance food writer, you may have seen her work on WRAL’s Out and About food and entertainment website. She is also the membership committee chair of Les Dames d’Escoffier NC Chapter and a member of American Culinary Federation. She has degrees in both culinary and hospitality management, as well as years of experience in both the banking and culinary industries. She works in banquet and events professionally, and also consults in her free time on a case-by-case basis. She organizes a monthly gluten-free meetup group, Gluten-Free in the Triangle or GFIT.
