2/16/17: Prince  “Baby, I’m a Star”

No way was it difficult to jump out of bed this morning with Prince playing in my head. This last year was rough in terms of losing gifted artists and entertainers, and one of those who went up to the Spirit in the Sky was Prince Rogers Nelson, known as “Prince,” of course. Or possibly the artist formerly known as “Prince.”

I became a big fan of Prince back in the 80’s, especially after seeing “Purple Rain.” Prince was all about stage presence, and we’re talking perpetual motion in addition to great singing and phenomenal songwriting talent. All that, and he’s a virtuoso on the guitar. Prince really was the whole package, and with this particular song (from the “Purple Rain” soundtrack) it’s impossible to sit still. I can sum it up by quoting Prince himself: “Take a picture, sweetie! I ain’t got time to wait!”
