I have loved, loved, loved the opportunity to use the UNC Wellness Center at Meadowmont. It’s such a great facility. I’ve always been a little self-conscious of exercising or getting fit in front of other people, and this opportunity has challenged me to get out of my comfort zone. I’ve found class instructors that I love, the track is a great way to warm up for any activity, and the staff, my coach, and assistant (shout out to Lindsay who is AMAZING) have been so kind, helpful and encouraging. My ladies on my team are great too. We were all high-fiving last weigh-in because we all logged some weight loss. What a great feeling! I took an exercise ball clinic with Chris, and actually fell ass over elbows off the ball while trying a new exercise! I didn’t even care – I just kept trying.
Because of the challenge, I am trying new things, including going to the golf range. Beyond playing putt-putt, this is the first time in my 42 years that I’ve actually hit a golf ball.
I’m officially down 7lbs at the halfway mark, and I couldn’t be more proud. Thanks to all of you guys for having this event and giving all of us the opportunity to jump-start our (hopefully) new healthy lifestyle. I feel great!
