Bad Times for the Fridge

Few football players have ever been as popular as William “Refrigerator” Perry was in the 1980’s.  As a rookie, he helped the the Chicago Bears to a Super Bowl victory.  He was also a cultural icon.

But, the Fridge has fallen on hard times.  He’s lost all of his money.  He was forced to auction off his Super Bowl ring.  He’s severely overweight, needs a walker to move around, and his diabetes almost cost him a foot.  Sports Illustrated takes a closer look.
