Described as a “stately gentleman,” Rudy is a chesnut-colored eight year old dog with the heart of a puppy and the manners of an adult companion. Athletic and a big fan of play, Rudy enjoys his time outside, especially with a human friend.

Especially fond of tug-of-war and walking/running around town, he’s the kind of dog who likes to get to know his surroundings. While he was here at the station, he calmly and carefully investigated the area and then came right back for some scratches behind the ears. He clearly knows when it’s playtime (and boy, does he play! Rounds of tug-of-war with Rudy are a sight to behold!) and when he needs to keep quiet and still. He’s certainly an affectionate dog, who loves to be around people who treat him well. His tail is always wagging, and he’s always got a big smile on his face.

Rudy comes from an urban shelter, and would probably do best in a home with a fenced yard, or one close to a park. Cats make him a little nervous, and he’s more comfortable with people than other dogs most of the time. He’s been neutered, microchipped, and is up-to-date on all vaccinations.
