Picnic and Live Music on the Village Green at Southern Village. Bring the whole family and enjoy a fun and casual Mother’s Day. Pack a picnic and come listen to Classic American Rock and Pop covers at Southern Village.

Take a bike ride on one of the many Greenways and bike routes in Orange County.  “Chapel Hill a town within a Park” – Chapel Hill is made up of 1,200 acres of park, open space, and greenway easements totaling 12 miles of trails. Mother’s Day Walk at Mason Farm. If your mom loves the great outdoors and gardening she’ll love this walk through the Mason Farm Biological Reserve’s “old farm trail,” which travels through some 260 years of cultural and natural history. Naturalist Ed Harrison will lead the walk and point out wildflowers as well as discuss how the Garden’s intense management of both field and forest benefits local biological diversity conservation. The walk will be about 2.5 miles in length, and includes a short off-trail foray into the old-growth Shagbark Hickory forest. Wear sturdy hiking footwear and bring a walking stick, insect repellent, and water.

Baby Goat Yoga at the Chapel Hill Carriage House. Treat your mom this Mother’s Day weekend to a yoga class at the beautiful Chapel Hill Carriage House. Join Lindsey Alexander for an all levels class outside with the animals, of course, there will be baby goats. Bring your yoga mat or a towel and wear comfy clothes. Suggested $10 donation. Register here.
