Local Pilates instructor and owner of Chapel Hill Pilates, Lauren McClerkin has developed a new app to take charge of your health and body. 100s to Happiness™ gives you the mind-body connection you’ve been searching for in the palm of your hand. This Pilates-based app shares Pilates exercises on the go and is currently being redeveloped to offer so much more. McClerkin, recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to help with the cost of the redevelopment. The updated version of the app will include meditation, movement, and journaling.

For over nine years, McClerkin has been teaching Pilates in Chapel Hill, she has witnessed the magic that the Pilates method has in helping people. “I walked into my first studio back in early 2000, that lesson hooked me for life. I continued lessons and realized one day walking out that I wanted to do this as a profession,” said McClerkin. She enrolled in the 900-hour advanced training program through The Pilates Center in Boulder CO and trained with InsideOut Body Therapies in Durham.  After completing the program in 2008, she has been teaching full-time.

Sharing the benefits of Pilates with a wider audience and challenging people to fully understand the Pilates Method, sparked the idea for 100s to Happiness™. After listening to a friend voice their frustration about the lack of energy and momentum in the workplace, the seed for 100s to Happiness™ was planted.  Through many brainstorming sessions, the decision was made to make this an interactive app.

The new 2.0 version of the app will be full of engaging advice, tips, and videos. “It will guide users to become fully aware of their bodies and be ok with that”, said McClerkin. “This is the foundation needed to go execute all other workout modalities, including Orange Theory, bootcamp, running, tennis, golf, and other forms of exercise and activities.”

There are less than 10 days left to donate to help her reach her goal. To find more information about the app and to donate to the Kickstarter campaign visit www.happinesskickstarter.com. Or simply go to www.100stohappiness.com and see the transitions take place. The app is free to download and use for seven days. After seven days, there is a one-time fee of $1.99 to unlock the remaining challenge. An optional membership is also available for $4.99 per month that will give you
on-the-go videos covering all ranges of ways to move.

” If we all moved more mindfully and built a stronger foundation for our structure, there just might be a lot of happiness in the world.” – Lauren McClerkn
