The Tar Heels jumped out to a 6-1 lead early and never looked back as they beat Virginia Tech 19-6 to advance to the second round of the ACC Tournament.
With four different players scoring multiple goals, UNC was able to rely on a balanced attack to overwhelm the Hokies.
Molly Hendrick led the way with four goals and two assists. Marie McCool added three goals and an assist as well.
It is now the 11th victory in a row for a UNC team that is the second ranked team in the nation according to the RPI.
They are the highest ranked team in the ACC, closely followed by Syracuse at number four.
The Tar Heels are scheduled to take on the winner of Virginia and Duke Friday for a chance to play in the ACC Championship Game.
