The UNC women’s basketball team had its losing streak extended to four games Wednesday night at Carmichael Arena, as the Virginia Tech Hokies drilled 13 three-pointers on the way to a 90-74 victory over the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill.

Taylor Emery poured in a game-high 25 points for the Hokies (16-8, 5-6 ACC), while Regan Magarity notched an impressive double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds.

UNC (14-10, 4-7 ACC) held a slim 37-34 lead at halftime, but Virginia Tech exploded on a 12-0 run during the third quarter to take control of the game for good.

The Hokies led by as many as 19 points midway through the fourth quarter, as they finished the night shooting nearly 51 percent from the floor.

Junior guard Paris Kea led the Tar Heels with 20 points. UNC also received 18 points and 13 rebounds from freshman forward Janelle Bailey, in addition to 14 points and eight assists from senior Jamie Cherry.
