A late fourth-quarter rally by the No. 4 Louisville Cardinals was the only thing that kept the struggling UNC women’s basketball team from pulling off what would have been its most impressive victory of the season.

Both teams entered the final period Sunday afternoon at Carmichael Arena tied 45-45, but Louisville used a 12-2 run to pull away for what turned into a 67-57 win.

As a result, the Tar Heels (14-13, 4-10 ACC) have now lost seven straight games–with their last win (Jan. 21 vs. Duke) coming nearly a month ago.

Guard Asia Durr led the Cardinals with 19 points, but missed the majority of the fourth quarter after leaving with an injury.

With their best player sidelined, Louisville received a clutch performance from Arica Carter–who scored 14 points and nailed a pair of three-pointers during the 12-2 run that ended up deciding the game.

Freshman forward Janelle Bailey scored a team-high 20 points for the Tar Heels, while guard Paris Kea chipped in 14.
