UNC outside hitter Taylor Leath was named the ACC Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday, after leading the Tar Heels to a pair of impressive victories this weekend.
Leath posted 16 kills on Friday against LIU-Brooklyn, before exploding for a career-high 27 kills on Sunday in UNC’s upset win over previously undefeated LSU.
Her 27 kills were the most by a Tar Heel player since 2005.
The redshirt junior–who won the ACC Player of the Year award last season–has now won the conference’s weekly honor four times in her career, becoming the first Tar Heel since Tori Seibert in 1999 to do so.
She and the Tar Heels will be back in action on Sep. 15 at home against Loyola Marymount.
