Less than a week after scoring the game-winning goal against Florida State, UNC junior Dorian Bailey did it again Thursday night against the No. 19 Clemson Tigers–lifting the Tar Heels to a 1-0 victory at Wakemed Soccer Park in Cary.
The goal came in the 77th minute, when Madison Schultz fired a shot off the crossbar. Bailey then swooped in for the rebound, and headed it into the back of the net.
It was the team-leading fourth goal of the season for Bailey, who also provided the difference in last year’s NCAA Tournament matchup between UNC and Clemson.
The Tar Heels outshot Clemson (6-3, 0-2 ACC) by a margin of 16-8 as they improved to 6-2 so far this season, with a 2-0 record to open ACC play.
