The top-ranked UNC women’s lacrosse team–last year’s national champions–notched another incredible milestone on Friday night with its 16-6 victory over the High Point Panthers at Fetzer Field.

It was the 20th consecutive win for head coach Jenny Levy and the Tar Heels, a streak that dates back to early last season.

Junior midfielder Ela Hazar matched a career high with six points for the second straight game, scoring two goals and dishing four assists in total against High Point.

Forward Molly Hendrick added four goals and an assist to the winning cause, as UNC improved to 3-0 to start the 2017 campaign–having earned victories over James Madison and No. 3 Florida over the past two weeks.

With victory No. 298 of her storied coaching career, a number good enough for third on the NCAA’s all-time list, Levy continues to inch closer to the 300-win mark. Given the way her team is playing, that should come sooner rather than later.

The Tar Heels scrimmaged with the England National Team on Saturday morning, and will return to competitive action on Saturday Feb. 25 against No. 2 Maryland–in a rematch of the sport’s last two national title games.
