The UNC women’s basketball team, with the reintroduction of Sylvia Hatchell to the head-coaching seat, will seek revenge from the NCAA Elite Eight in one of its 14 non-ACC games, announced Thursday.

Stanford halted Carolina’s season in the tournament with a nine-point victory on the Cardinal’s home court. The Tar Heels once again have to travel west to face the Cardinal, but this time all the way to Hawaii in the Rainbow Wahine Showdown over the Thanksgiving break.

The season tips off November 14 as UNC opens with a three-game home stand against Howard, UCLA, and Oklahoma State. On the way to Hawaii, Carolina will stop in Eugene, Oregon on November 23 to battle the Ducks.

The Tar Heels are coming off a 75-62 victory in the ACC/Big-Ten Challenge last year against Nebraska. This season, Carolina travels to Rutgers for the first game of December.

The remaining six non-conference meetings include a contest with in-state foe, Appalachian State, Oregon State, two games in Myrtle Beach just before Christmas against Maine and Elon, and home matchups against Albany and East Tennessee State.

Carolina awaits the release of the ACC schedule by the conference office. To see the 14-game non-conference schedule, click here.
