UNC WBB Hosts High Point with Coach Hatchell in Attendance
CHAPEL HILL– No.14 UNC women’s basketball returns home to face High Point Saturday at 1 p.m. after a pair of wins in Myrtle Beach earlier in the week.
North Carolina head women’s basketball coach Sylvia Hatchell plans on attending Saturday’s game in Carmichael Arena as her 10-2 Tar Heels look to take down the 5-5 Panthers.
Hatchell will not be on the Carolina bench as she is still not able to be among large crowds, but she will be watching from the stands.
“I’m so excited to be able to come watch our team play. I’m feeling great right now with my numbers coming back really good,” Hatchell says.
“Patience is one of the hardest things right now for me, because I want so badly to get back with the team. I know I have three more treatments to go through over the next few months. If all goes as planned you could see me back on the bench this season,” Hatchell says.
Hatchell remains hopeful to return to her coaching duties this season, but for now associate head coach Andrew Calder remains in the role.
All fans that have a ticket to the men’s game on Saturday against Davidson can gain free admission to the women’s game by showing your ticket at Carmichael Arena.
