For the third time this season–and fourth time in her career–UNC sophomore Brittany Pickett has been named the ACC Softball Pitcher of the Week.
The league announced the decision on Tuesday, following a week in which Pickett earned the victory in all four of the Tar Heels’ games.
In a doubleheader against USC-Upstate, Pickett was the pitcher in both games and held the opponents to just two combined runs–including a complete game shutout in the second game of the day.
She then held the ACC’s best offense to just a .231 average in two wins over Notre Dame, as she closed out the weekend with a 1-0 shutout win over the Fighting Irish.
Pickett and the Tar Heels (16-16, 6-3 ACC) will return to action on Wednesday against Winthrop.
