RALEIGH- The No. 25 North Carolina softball team will travel to Raleigh this weekend to face ACC opponent NC State in a three game series.

The Tar Heels stand 32-13 overall and 9-3 in conference play.

In 2012 North Carolina swept the series with NC State and is 24-46 all time.

The Wolfpack are 21-17-1 on the season and 5-6 in the ACC.

In recent play North Carolina defeated Elon Wednesday 6-0. The Tar Heels went 6-0 last week, defeating Appalachian State Tuesday, sweeping a doubleheader against James Madison Wednesday, and then beating Virginia this past weekend 3-0.

Senior first baseman Constance Orr leads the Tar Heels batting .352 with 40 RBIs on 43 hits with 25 runs. Sophomore catcher Amber Perrish adds to the team’s success batting .347 with 35 hits and 22 RBIs. Senior catcher Haleigh Dickey has 27 RBIs on 41 hits, with eight homers on the season.

NC State defeated Campbell twice in a doubleheader on Wednesday.

This first game is ser for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The second 3:00 p.m. Saturday, and finally game three will be Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
