If there’s any type of crack in JB Bukauskas’ armor, he has yet to show it thus far in 2017.

The Tar Heel righty–a first round MLB Draft prospect–improved his individual record to 5-0 on Friday, as he pitched No. 8 UNC to a 3-1 victory over No. 12 Florida State in Tallahassee.

Bukauskas struck out 10 hitters over seven strong innings against the Seminoles, while allowing just one run on three hits.

He increased his ACC lead in strikeouts, while his ERA actually went up from 0.90 to 1.00–showing the type of dominance the junior has displayed.

Although the Seminoles (18-9, 6-4 ACC) did plate a run against Bukauskas–a rare enough feat in and of itself–it wasn’t because of anything they did with their bats.

A wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh gave the home side its only action on the scoreboard all night long.

Offensively, Brian Miller and Ashton McGee each homered for UNC (20-6, 7-3 ACC) with Brandon Riley tacking on a sacrifice fly during the team’s two-run third inning.

Miller’s solo shot kicked off the scoring for the Tar while McGee’s seventh inning blast–also of the solo variety–provided a little extra breathing room down the stretch.

The Tar Heels were then able to turn to their bullpen maestro, freshman closer Josh Hiatt.

Hiatt tossed two shutout innings without surrendering a hit, on the way to his 10th save of the season.
