UNC officially released its 2018 football schedule on Wednesday, as the Tar Heels look to rebound from a 3-9 record this past season.

Back-to-back road games at California (Sept. 1) and East Carolina (Sept. 8) will kick-off next season, followed by the home opener on Sept. 15 against UCF–a school coming off a perfect 13-0 campaign.

Conference play is scheduled to begin for UNC on Sept. 22 when Pittsburgh visits Chapel Hill.

The Tar Heels will have a short week of preparation before traveling to Miami for a Thursday night game on Sept. 27, a primetime matchup against the defending ACC Coastal Division Champions.

After a bye week, UNC hosts Virginia Tech (Oct. 13), then goes on the road for games at Syracuse (Oct. 20) and Virginia (Oct. 27).

From there, the Tar Heels will remain inside the state of North Carolina for the rest of the year.

Georgia Tech will visit Kenan Stadium on Nov. 3, while UNC is scheduled to make the short trip to Durham for the annual rivalry game against Duke on Nov. 10.

The final non-conference game of the year comes against Western Carolina in Chapel Hill on Nov. 17, with NC State coming to town the next week to close out the season on Nov. 24.
